The members of Sierra Endocrine Associates maintain an active involvement in the Fresno community.

Educating the Medical Community

A strong advocate for education, Dr. Hawkins conducts weekly lectures to local doctors specializing in Family Practice and Internal Medicine. His lectures focus on osteoporosis, diabetes, and lipids. In addition, Dr. Hawkins helps mentor residents of University of California, San Francisco at Fresno by allowing them to train at Sierra Endocrine Associates.

Mr. Morales is a regular lecturer for nurse practitioner graduate programs at schools like California State University, Fresno and University of California, Davis at Fresno. He also gives lectures to local nurse practitioners, physician assistants, physicians, and other health professionals.

Aquarius Aquarium Institute
Sierra Endocrine Associates provides ongoing support to the building of Fresno's nonprofit Public Aquarium through their Annual Charter Member donations and Special Gifts Campaign contributions. The new Public Aquarium will be an addition to Aquarius Aquarium Institute, a nonprofit organization located in Fresno that fosters respect, understanding, and conservation of the world's aquatic ecosystems through educational programs, interpretive exhibits, aquarium propagation, and spawning/rearing of aquatic species. The new aquarium will feature a two million gallon Oceanarium as its centerpiece exhibit. Aquarius Aquarium Institute is a public charity solely supported by grants and contributions from individuals and charitable foundations.

Valley Public Radio
Sierra Endocrine Associates supports Valley Public Radio through their Broadcaster's Circle Membership. The mission of Valley Public Radio is to serve expanding audiences through quality communication services that are informative, innovative, educational, and stimulating. This radio station depends on the communities they serve to continue to be a leader in providing classical music, cultural arts, National Public Radio news, and innovative local programming.

San Joaquin River Parkway and Conservation Trust
Sierra Endocrine Associates supports the San Joaquin River Parkway and Conservation Trust through annual contributions. The mission of this organization is to preserve and restore San Joaquin River lands having ecological, scenic, or historic significance; to educate the public on the need for stewardship; to research issues affecting the river; and to promote educational, recreational, and agricultural uses consistent with the protection of the river's resources. The San Joaquin River Parkway and Conservation Trust relies on its members to sustain the organization and support its programs.

Bulldog Foundation
Sierra Endocrine Associates has been long-standing members of The Bulldog Foundation. The Bulldog Foundation recognizes the value of a successful athletic program to Fresno State, its alumni, friends, and citizens of the San Joaquin Valley. Its mission is to promote education through student-athlete scholarships and support a comprehensive athletic program consistent with successful Division 1 programs in the nation. The Bulldog Foundation oversees all fund-raising for Fresno State Athletics including the Scholarship Fund, First Team Starting Lineups, Green Vs Society, Commodity Program, planned and estate giving, new and upgraded facilities, and sports clubs.
